Dear BART, I have a bone to pick with you......

I feel like Bart had a hopeful vision of the future once, and had they maintained their system and worked toward providing pervasive service, and mabye had a good thorough power washing, this would be visible. Its a shame though because I feel like whereas Americans once really pushed for uplifting, convenient and attractive mass transit and now we will just accept the fact that everyday on my commute, something is majorly wrong with the upkeep of the system.

On the other hand, heres Barcelona, Spain getting things incredibly right. The original station had been built in 1968.  Since the limitations of reworking an existing train station were limiting, the architects Eduardo Gutiérrez Munné and Jordi Fernández Río of ON-A Arquitectura , worked in many new upgrades to the walls and skin of the station. Their idea was to make the station refrence the molded interior of a subway train, providing all the furnishings and appointments nessacary for human use in the design. I just like it because it looks so great! Shit, I would move into this train station. Its as good as a Joe Colombo total living unit.
